We all know that we need to take care of the world around us, which means that more and more people are becoming aware of eco-friendly practices and approaches to life. One event that helps demonstrate this is the Carshalton Environmental Fair that is held each year, attracting around 10,000 people on average.
Thought to be one of the best days out in South London, the Carshalton Environmental Fair is not only a celebration of eco-friendly life, but also families and fun in general.
The main aim of the fair is to raise awareness of environmental practices and how they can have an impact on the world around us. However, this message runs alongside a fantastic and fun family day out.
This year the fair will be held on August Bank Holiday Monday from 10:30am to 8pm and is an entire day packed full of amazing and awesome activities.
There really is no better venue for an environmental fair then Carshalton Park. This wide, open, green space has plenty of room for families to relax, spend time together and learn about the world around them, all in beautiful surroundings that we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.
There are over 150 stalls which stock local produce as well as a variety of handmade crafts too. You will also find plenty of places to eat and drink, great if you are looking to spend the entire day hanging out with your family.
You can also stay entertained too thanks to the live music that features throughout the entire day. Acoustic, folk and even rock, all feature as part of this amazing playlist of tunes.
Of course, as the aim of the fair is to raise awareness of environmentally friendly ways to live, throughout the day there is an Energy Road Show, which gives great ideas on ways that you can save energy in your own home. There is also a pedal power challenge too, which shows just how many watts of power you can generate by pedalling a cycle.
Whatever your age or background, there is sure to be plenty that captures your imagination and makes you smile at this fantastic local fair. With so much to see, do, learn about and taste, this is the ideal day out for all the family on a (hopefully) sunny Surrey summers day!
